Shamrock 'n' Ride 2024: A Day of Fun, Adventure, and Community Spirit
Thank you for a wonderful Shamrock 'n' Ride! On March 30th, Macon was buzzing with excitement as Shamrock ‘n’ Ride took over the streets! With perfect weather, participants embarked on a thrilling scavenger hunt across Downtown, Midtown, Greenwood Bottom, and the Industrial District.
Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Awards Safety Grant to Bike Walk Macon
Bike Walk Macon is pleased to announce it has received a $55,156.29 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).
The grant will help finance efforts to develop and execute educational programs that expand and promote bicycle and pedestrian safety to reduce the number of pedestrian and bicycle fatalities, injuries, and crash rates in Macon-Bibb County, Georgia.

We brought Open Streets Macon to the neighborhoods again on September 12th and October 24th! This year, we continued our COVID-19 format and activated two smaller, residential routes on Boulevard and Napier Ave. in the place of one, miles-long route. These routes were selected through a nomination process and aimed at engaging the immediate neighborhood communities.
A special thank you to the North Highlands and Napier Heights neighborhoods for welcoming us and making this year's program a community-led success!
