More than a Ride, a Statement for Safer Streets

ATTENTION: Starting location moved from Rosa Parks Square to the Otis Redding Center for the Arts at 436 Cotton Avenue.

Join hundreds of Middle Georgia bicyclists as we ride together to champion a safer, more connected Macon. This is your chance to join the movement and advocate for streets and greenways that welcome everyone, whether you walk, bike, or roll through our city.

The ride kicks off at Otis Redding Center for the Arts (436 Cotton Avenue) and winds through Macon’s streets, highlighting projects that improve connections across neighborhoods. We’ll finish with a celebration at Fall Line Brewing Co., where the after-party supports the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail.

Whether you’re a new or seasoned rider, join us to show your support for safer streets and help make Macon a healthier, more connected city for everyone.

CELEBRATE THE LEGACY OF JOSH ROGERS:

This year’s ride celebrates the legacy and life of Josh Rogers, a dedicated advocate for walkable and bikeable streets in Macon and a founding board member of Bike Walk Macon Board. The route highlights projects he helped bring to life, including improvements in Downtown, Walnut Street, Macon Connects, and the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. Macon’s Big Bike Ride GOALS

Why are we riding? Here’s what this event is all about:

Demonstrate the Need for Safer Streets
Hundreds of riders will come together to show the demand for safer, more connected streets, bike lanes, trails, and parking. We’ll engage with local officials and advocate for policies and funding that prioritize multi-modal transportation and protect everyone who walks, bikes, or rolls through our city.

Foster a Thriving Bicycling Community
The ride is for everyone - families, experienced riders, and newcomers alike. It’s a chance to share a love of biking, learn from one another, and connect with Macon’s bike community. Safety resources, maintenance tips, and information about future events and groups will be available.

Support Bike Walk Macon
Funds raised help us organize community events, educational programs, and infrastructure projects, while supporting our day-to-day advocacy for safer streets and better transportation options.

  • Safe streets for all ages and abilities - Supporting Vision Zero, Complete Streets, and traffic calming that puts people first.

  • Low-stress transportation choices - Expanded trails, connected sidewalks, and seamless access to transit.

  • Equitable access - Affordable, inclusive transportation and community-led planning.

  • Everyday biking and walking - Creating a culture where active transportation is safe and normal.
